Varus, the Arrow of Retribution, has been a formidable champion in the League of Legends since his release in 2012. With his deadly bow and piercing arrows, he has struck fear into the hearts of his enemies. Over the years, Varus has received several skins, each offering a unique visual and thematic twist to his character. One such skin is the 'Infernal Varus' skin, which was released on August 1, 2019.
The Infernal Varus skin transforms the stoic and vengeful archer into a fiery embodiment of destruction. With flames engulfing his body and his bow, Varus becomes a fearsome force to be reckoned with on the Summoner's Rift. This skin offers a complete visual overhaul, including new animations, sound effects, and spell effects, all designed to immerse players in the fiery theme.
One of the standout features of the Infernal Varus skin is the transformation of his bow. It morphs into a blazing inferno, with flames dancing along its length. The arrows he fires leave behind a trail of fire as they soar through the air, adding an extra layer of intensity to his attacks. Additionally, his abilities are visually enhanced to match the infernal theme. For example, his Q ability, Piercing Arrow, now leaves behind a trail of flames as it charges up, and his ultimate ability, Chain of Corruption, unleashes fiery chains that bind his enemies.
Not only does the Infernal Varus skin offer a visually stunning transformation, but it also adds a new layer of immersion to the gameplay experience. The fiery effects and animations make each ability cast feel more impactful and satisfying. Whether you're sniping enemies from afar with your Piercing Arrow or locking down multiple targets with your Chain of Corruption, the Infernal Varus skin enhances the overall gameplay experience.
Now, let's delve into the lore and story of Varus himself. Varus was once a proud Ionian warrior who fought to protect his homeland from Noxian invaders. However, tragedy struck when he was corrupted by the dark magic of the Darkin, a race of ancient, malevolent beings. The Darkin's influence consumed Varus, turning him into a vessel of vengeance and retribution.
Varus now seeks to exact his revenge on those who wronged him and his homeland. He is driven by an insatiable hunger for vengeance, and his arrows strike with deadly precision. Varus is a marksman who excels at dealing sustained damage from a distance. His abilities allow him to poke enemies from afar, while his ultimate ability can lock down multiple targets, making him a valuable asset in team fights.
However, Varus does have his weaknesses. He lacks mobility and is vulnerable to crowd control effects. Champions with high burst damage or gap-closing abilities can pose a significant threat to him. Additionally, Varus relies heavily on landing skill shots to maximize his damage output, making him more challenging to play for inexperienced players.
In the League of Legends, Varus is often played in the bot lane as an ADC (Attack Damage Carry). His long-range abilities and ability to shred through tanks make him a popular pick in team compositions that prioritize sustained damage. With the Infernal Varus skin, players can now unleash the fury of the flames as they rain down destruction upon their enemies.
On the page dedicated to Varus's 'Infernal Varus' skin, you can find more information about the skin, including videos showcasing its visual effects and animations. Whether you're a fan of Varus or simply appreciate the artistry and creativity behind League of Legends skins, the Infernal Varus skin is a must-have for any collector or Varus enthusiast.
So, embrace the flames and unleash your inner inferno with the Infernal Varus skin. Let the fiery arrows rain down upon your enemies as you seek retribution and vengeance on the Summoner's Rift.
Lore:
One of the ancient darkin, Varus was a deadly killer who loved to torment his foes, driving them almost to insanity before delivering the killing arrow. He was imprisoned at the end of the Great Darkin War, but escaped centuries later in the remade flesh of two Ionian hunters—they had unwittingly released him, cursed to bear the bow containing his bound essence. Varus now seeks out those who trapped him, in order to enact his brutal vengeance, but the mortal souls within still resist him every step of the way.
Ally tips:
An early point in Blighted Quiver helps harass enemy champions and get killing blows on minions. During short range fights it's sometimes best to fire Piercing Arrow quickly, rather than charging it to full power. Try to take advantage of Piercing Arrow's very long range to snipe at enemy champions before a fight or as they're trying to flee.
Enemy tips:
If you are affected by Blight, Varus' abilities will deal extra damage to you. When he gets a kill or assist, Varus temporarily gains Attack Speed and is much more dangerous. You'll get bound in place if a tendril from Varus' ultimate, Chain of Corruption, reaches you. You can cause the tendril to die however by running far enough away from it.
