Azir, the Emperor of the Sands, is a powerful mage and a versatile champion in the game League of Legends. With his ability to summon and command an army of sand soldiers, Azir can dominate the battlefield and control the flow of the game. As a champion with a rich lore and a unique playstyle, Azir has captured the hearts of many players. One of his most popular skins is the Gravelord Azir skin, which transforms him into a fearsome undead ruler.

The Story of Gravelord Azir

Gravelord Azir is a skin that takes Azir's theme to a darker and more sinister level. In this skin, Azir becomes a powerful undead ruler, commanding an army of skeletal soldiers. The skin features a complete visual overhaul, with Azir's armor and staff taking on a more macabre appearance. His sand soldiers are replaced with skeletal warriors, and his abilities are accompanied by eerie visual effects.

The inspiration for Gravelord Azir comes from the concept of necromancy and the undead. Azir, who was once a powerful emperor, has now risen from the grave to reclaim his lost kingdom. With his newfound powers over death, he commands an army of undead soldiers to do his bidding. The skin's design reflects this theme, with Azir's armor adorned with bones and his staff emitting an eerie green glow.

The visual effects of Gravelord Azir are truly impressive. When Azir summons his skeletal soldiers, they rise from the ground in a cloud of green mist. As they attack, their strikes leave behind trails of ghostly energy. Azir's abilities also receive a dark makeover, with his Q ability, Conquering Sands, sending forth a wave of skeletal hands, and his ultimate ability, Emperor's Divide, creating a wall of bones to separate his enemies.

Azir: The Emperor of the Sands

Azir's story in League of Legends is one of power, betrayal, and redemption. Once a mortal emperor of Shurima, Azir sought to unlock the secrets of immortality and reshape the world in his image. However, his plans were thwarted by his closest ally, Xerath, who betrayed him and caused the fall of Shurima. Azir was believed to be dead, but he was reborn as an Ascended being, a powerful being of pure energy.

As an Ascended, Azir returned to Shurima to reclaim his lost kingdom. With his newfound powers over sand and the ability to summon an army of sand soldiers, Azir became a formidable force on the battlefield. His abilities allow him to control the flow of the game, zoning out enemies with his sand soldiers and dealing massive damage with his spells.

Azir's strengths lie in his ability to dominate team fights and control objectives. With his sand soldiers, he can poke enemies from a safe distance and engage in fights with his ultimate ability, Emperor's Divide, which can separate the enemy team and create opportunities for his allies. His passive ability, Shurima's Legacy, also allows him to resurrect turrets, giving his team a strong advantage in pushing and defending objectives.

However, Azir also has his weaknesses. He is a squishy mage with low mobility, making him vulnerable to assassins and champions with high burst damage. Azir's abilities also require precise positioning and timing to maximize their effectiveness, making him a difficult champion to master. Additionally, his sand soldiers can be destroyed by enemy champions, limiting his damage output in team fights.

Despite his weaknesses, Azir remains a popular pick in competitive play and a favorite among players who enjoy strategic and high-skill cap champions. His unique playstyle and lore make him a fascinating character to explore, and his Gravelord Azir skin adds an extra layer of excitement to his gameplay.

Lore:

His hubris saw him betrayed and murdered at the moment of his greatest triumph, but now, millennia later, he has been reborn as an Ascended being of immense power. With his buried city risen from the sand, Azir seeks to restore Shurima to its former glory.

Ally tips:

Be careful about putting down both of the soldiers stored by Arise! Unless you're going all-in, always have a soldier in your back pocket if you need to escape over a wall or if you misposition your other soldier and need damage now. In the lane, try to position your soldiers between the enemy's minions and the enemy champion. This way you can use them both to last hit and to project threat onto your lane opponent. Think of Emperor's Divide as a defensive ability first and foremost. Use it when the enemy engages on you or your allies. Remember that your team can walk through the soldiers summoned by Emperor's Divide and use this to your advantage when enemy melee champions engage on you. Be a bird!

Enemy tips:

Azir relies on his soldiers to deal damage and can only move them so often. Try to capitalize on windows of time when his soldiers are stationary.Azir has immense damage over a prolonged amount of time but lacks the upfront burst of other mages. Try to burst him out before he can turn a confrontation around.Try to think of Sand Soldiers as fire. Don't stand in the fire.
